If you want your Samson G-track to work in almost zero latency  capacity, use it in a WINDOWS XP platform.

if you have a work-around for Windows 7, please enlighten me. Thank you.

Lucky day today. Just found a solution to the latency problem of Samson G-Track in Windows 7.

Simple.

Just look for settings in your software that has something to do with “offset latency” (Options  -> Preferences ->Audio Device).  You software has by default already set the latency to “0″. However,  the default latency setting will apparently work if your unit is somewhat similar or close to the specification of the software author’s computer. In other words, settings may vary for computers with different combination of software and hardware.

In my case, I am using a DAW software called Sony Acid Music Studio 8.0 to edit and record music. After a series of trial and errors, I discovered that the best “user recording latency offset” setting is  ”60″ , the default is  ”0″ and I also set “playback buffering” to  0.09.

If  tweaking your Software becomes stressful, I suggest you switch to Sony Acid Music Studio 8.0  and just simply follow what I did with the settings.

Ironically the internal modem’s utility is both hostile and supplementary to the existence of another office communication device that is also predicted to be rendered obsolete by the fast-changing state of information technology  – The Fax Machine. However the “soon” has been contested by companies who are still accustomed to the old ways. Thanks to old bosses’ tendency for tech-nostalgia, more and more people are realizing the utility of these so called obsolete devices.

The modem is the only hardware you need to turn your pc into an instant fax machine. With a little help from software like Winfax,  data can easily be transmitted  much like the fax machine but minus the sender having to produce a hard copy and manually feeding the printed copy to the conventional fax machine. In short because of the slight inconvenience of printing and manually feeding of printed copy of data, the internal modem has successfully reinvented itself and successfully integrated itself into this dynamic information technology that is continuously  revolutionizing itself and always coming up with new things in the blink of an eye (literally).

To install these drivers , just download and extract.

Do not run setup files, install via Device manager, click  device with yellow mark then update driver and point to the folder where you extract the installation files.

These drivers also work with windows xp and probably vista too.

by the way, don’t bother installing the web camera in windows 7 it wont  work  .

Additional Notes:

You may find this model hp dm1-3025dx entertainment pc very challenging when it  comes to the reinstallation of the O.S. Unlike other brands and models this model has very peculiar boot -up behavior.

Like  many netbooks lacking optical drives, in order to reinstall or reformat this model, you need an external dvd-rom or dvd writer. To enter the BIOS setting just keep on pressing f8. The BIOS setting may not appear on your first try but just keep on pressing f8 on start up.

The main culprits for the error in installing itunes are conflicting softwares- mostly games and multimedia software that still employ old versions of  Visual C ++ Redistributable.  Just uninstall the damn software(s)? Sounds easy but no, it’s not as simple as that. You can uninstall the conflicting softwares but the old Visual C++ may still remain,  These old Vredist  proved to be immune to the Add/Remove administrator functions.

Just reinstall or reformat your unit for lesser headache but if you are up to the challenge for troubleshooting by isolating the problem, you can still do so.

Pls be reminded that this is a customized driver. There are no driver updates for the sound driver from Cmedia, that’s why I came up with something that can help people with the driver problem for  the said Cmedia built-in soundcard.

First download this driver:

unzip it then install

this installation will actually install the device but with problems.

and so a yellow mark will be placed on your sound/audio controller in your device manager listing

highlight the said problematic device/driver then update, point it to the folder where you extract the following driver file:
